Dear friends,
These holiday days have a way of playing with time - speeding things up to a frantic pace and then, suddenly - silence. This day feels suspended, wrapped in its own rhythm, an invitation to pause and reflect. And so, wherever you are - with loved ones or spending this day quietly on your own, I wanted to touch in. To honor our connection and this space that we share here on Substack - and the less visible but perhaps, more palpable realm where we are really connected, heart to heart, soul to soul.
I am thinking of you - imagining you celebrating. I am thinking of you, also, those spending this day alone. Know that you are in my heart and my thoughts. One of the purposes of shared community—whether online or in person—is the sense that we are not alone. A community like ours, in its quiet way, reminds us of the threads that connect us, even across distances.
So, wherever you find yourself today, I hope you can hold a small corner of peace in your heart. May you find moments of light today. May you MAKE moments of light for yourself — a moment of reflection, a pause in the flow of festivities to stop and take a breath and simply, sweetly honor yourself. To close your eyes and say, “Ah, yes. I am here with me.” This simple act of presence, a small moment of honoring matters (deeply) to the parts of us that can sometimes disconnect and leave us feeling stranded.
So I am taking this moment to place my hand over my own heart - to touch in with myself and with you.
Thank you for being part of my circle. I am sitting by my morning window, looking out at the snow, sending love - and wishing you a Christmas that meets you where you are, with grace, warmth, and the sense that you are never truly alone.
Big love.
Amy
