So, I've been over at the School of Magic, talking about love
... and today, I wanted to come back here - and talk about love with you.
Today, I launched the very first Curriculum module at The School of Magic. This is kind of a big deal for me. It’s such a beautiful project, allowing me to work on a platform that felt supportive (of me, as a teacher and artist) and of you (as a reader and circle participant). A platform, a group experience, a circle without ads or algorithms. A community without tiers. Exhaling (again) just thinking about it. And it’s real. Finally. I’d love for you to check it out. Now, let’s talk about love - and magic.
When I talk about magic I am always talking about Love. Not the tragic-romantic passion of Romeo and Juliet love nor the less tragic love of true soul mates. I am talking about a Love that is a force — of healing and making whole all that it touches. A love without gender or binary splits (good vs evil, light vs dark).
Love includes all of those splits and melts them down, into the essential truth of what they really are and always were, only love. Just love. Pure love. A flow of blessing, beloving and beholding.
When I talk about Love (and magic) I am talking about the pulsation of divine energy that circulates through your body —and the bodies of every other living creature on earth, human and non-human, including the stones and dust particles, the ants and the sharks, the raindrops and the snowflakes. All of creation is infused with this energy - this Love.
This month, at School of Magic, we'll be exploring that kind of love through the lens of Story Alchemy, exploring story as an ordering principle, as a kind of architecture.
Story Alchemy is part of Sacred Biography, a proprietary body of works, built around 30 years of research, training and personal experience with the cycles, patterns and mysteries of human life and evolution.
We begin here because we literally all begin here. Each of us is a story, unfolding into the world. Each of us is living a story with meaning and purpose. In Story Alchemy, we touch in to that story, feeling for its qualities and resonances. In Sacred Biography work, we start to map that story into the wider story of the world in which we live - including the things about that world that don’t seem to be working. We notice and map our response that - to suffering, to struggle, to heartbreak. We gently investigate the story that is guiding those responses.
In all of my classes we touch in lightly to these mysteries - we journey inward like quiet cave explorers, sounding our own depths for clues and sometimes, for the simple truth of who and what we truly are.
In my years of working with groups, I’ve found that accessing this simple truth, exploring into it, sensing and feeling and looking around our inner caves, grants us permission to BE, more and more, what we truly are in our daily lives.
If this sort of gentle spiritual exploration is of interest to you, I invite you to take a look at the School of Magic.
Check our our About page. Read today’s Curriculum post. As you will see, we’re just getting started.
If you feel called to join me there, I’d love to have you in the circle.
