Capturing shimmers, collecting miracles
Recording small glimmers lets you witness, over time, the larger grace that guides your way
The best way I know to go through life is eyes open, centered in love with a notebook beside me.
Why the notebook?
To help me stay awake to the dream as it unfolds.
To gather the pieces of the puzzle that emerge to answer my questions and assemble those pieces into the kind of meaning that supports me.
Why is this important?
Because I am a creator (so are you) and the culture we live in is actively working to convince me that I am a 'consumer', a profit center, a holiday shopper.
Because the culture would have me use my life force to feed some other creator’s dream and I would prefer to use that energy (that power) to build a dream of my own.
Keeping a journal is important AT THIS TIME IN HISTORY because I have chosen to consciously create my own life - and the best way I know to do this is to watch and listen to the patterns of the world - especially so I can detect what is mine and what is not mine. So that I can become a witness to the parallel world (the luminous, the numinous, the celestial, the whispers of the soul) as it flows through this one.
So that I might capture a wee bit of that shimmering on the page. (And we could never capture all of it - and we don't have to. All we need is a shimmer to change the world.) So, I keep a journal to acknowledge (by writing them down) these shimmers and by writing them, I claim them as my own. I collect them into my story. And when I have gathered all the shimmers I can find, they infuse my life - and my life story - with light, with a meaning that I have made. By choice.
Here's a secret the shimmers have taught me: This is a dream. By writing it down and re-turning to it from time to time - we wake up to what is real.

Thank you for inviting me into your email box. I’m beyond grateful that you want to read what I have to say. Writing can be a solitary journey - and it’s so lovely to connect with you along the way. So, I hope you’ll write back and tell me: What’s up in your world. What’s moving you - and moving through your heart?
May the joy and blessings of the season shine on you and your people.
With great love

Thank you, this really resonates with me. As I am becoming more attuned to the light and shadow side of all aspects of the sphere in which I dwell; I sense myself sifting the truth from a story, belief or practice that roots in commercialism but portrays as a gift, support or resource for the benefit of all. I am feeling quite adrift in doing so; truth, once known and seen cannot be unknown and unseen, and I don’t quite know how to navigate as a creator vs as a reactor. What you have described feels akin to keeping a clue journal; something in which I can document shining words and moments/experiences through which a more truth-full, elevated perspective will unfold as the ‘seemingly unrelated’ dots connect over time. I do this with my journalling, pull out shining words and phrases at the end of each week or month and see what message illumines as a result. I feel you have provided me a means to find mooring in that which feels so big, as I feel so small. I am so grateful for your love and sharing xx
