I appreciate your response. I am a seeker and person working to help the planet and to help others.

I have been down about what's happening in the country and the world and it's been a crisis of faith for me.

I can only imagine the struggle of reconciling what’s happening in the world today with the story we were told by our faith traditions. It’s heartbreaking to watch so much suffering, so much division, and to wonder where hope is supposed to come from.

When I speak about angels, about God, I’m not speaking from the orientation of that story. The world looks very different to me. Not because I don’t see the pain—I do—but because over time, I’ve come to see reality itself as something much wider and more fluid, more alive and more responsive than I once imagined.

Unlike what the old stories claim, I don’t believe God is an all powerful 'man' sitting above the world on a cloud, intervening and making choices about what should happen and to whom. To me, God is a force, God is life itself, love itself - and woven into the fabric of everything—a presence that moves through all of our world - through everything and everyone. Including, moving through us, In the small and ordinary moments of care and connection.

I don’t know if this will resonate with you. But I do know that crises of faith are real, and painful, and they ask something of us. They ask us to look again, to ask different questions, to open our hands where we once held certainty. To allow something new to land upon our open palm.

I’d love to hear what’s on your heart. If it helps to talk about what’s been weighing on you, I’m listening.
